Submission & Review Process

There are several steps to the review process:

Please note that plagiarism will not be tolerated. Any papers containing plagiarism will be rejected, and the author(s) and faculty advisor will be notified.

  1. Once a submission has been received via e-mail, and a confirmation e-mail has been sent to the author, the submission will be screened for content so that a decision can be made to either consider it for publication or reject it. The abstract of the paper will be used to judge the content of the paper.
  2. If the decision is made to consider the paper for publication, it will be submitted to www.turnitin.com in order to be screened for plagiarism.
  3. If the paper is free of plagiarism, the name(s) of the author(s) will be removed and the paper will be given to two or three student reviewers to undergo a double-blind peer review. The group of reviewers assigned to each paper may consist of both internal and external reviewers. Once the first review of the paper has been completed, comments and corrections made by the reviewers will be sent to the author(s) of the paper. If the paper is selected to move on to the next stage of the review process, the author will be asked to make the necessary revisions to his or her paper and to resubmit the paper when he or she has done so. The author(s) will be given a revision deadline for the paper.
  4. When the revision paper is received, it will be reviewed a second time by two reviewers. Once the second review is completed, if the paper has been selected for publication, the copy editor will edit the paper for style and structure. If the paper is not slected for publication, the author will receive any additional comments made by the reviewers, and that will be the end of the process for him or her. For papers that are selected for publication, the copy editor will work with the author to make sure the paper is in APA style. (The copy editor reserves the right to edit the paper, provided that the meaning of the text is not materially altered.)
  5. Once a paper is deemed ready for publication, an e-mail will be sent to the author(s) to gather any additional information that is needed and to share additional steps that should be taken.
